Time was ticking, I was against the clock. I was trying to regularly check the chicken while keeping an eye on the flame underneath the veggies. The guests would be here in 10 minutes I knew, my boss was never late. I knew if the boss did not like the food I was going to get sacked. Already 12 out of the 15 people had already lost their job and I did not want to follow their example.
